6/26 - 7/2, Flathead Lake

It's hard to believe that I've been going to Flathead Lake during the summers since I was Nikolas' age.  After leaving Hamilton, we headed to Flathead to see my mom and dad.  I've forgotten how fickle Montana's weather can be in June.  I've been reminded plenty, but we got to see it for ourselves during our visit.  It was cold and rainy all but the last two days of our time there.  Pretty disappointing!  It wasn't quite the Flathead visit we were planning for since we spent the majority of the time in our trailer.  Oh well, Nikolas still got his time in fishing at the dock and the 'boys' were still able to go out one day in the boat.  I guess there's something to be said for the 300 sunny days a year we get in Denver.  Hmmm....this doesn't bode well for Seattle if I'm not happy with a few days of rain in the summer in Montana!

Emalie wanted a hook on her pole (never mind the line....).  Thankfully she soon forgot about that and went to work imitating Nikolas.

Abby didn't have to sit in the trailer by herself all that much, since we were in there quite a bit with her.

Davar and Vicky drove down from Kalispell to see us.  That was so nice of them!!

The cousins grow up so fast we have a hard time keeping track of who's who (especially when we only get to see them every several years!).

And when the sun came out, it was time to pack up and leave.  Isn't that just the way it goes sometimes?  At least we had talked mom and dad into driving over to Thad and Kelly's and spending more time together there.  Next stop:  Coeur d'Alene!
