6-10, Go Mariners!!!!

We've had our Mariner's tickets for 2 months now and we finally got to enjoy the game last night... in the rain.... but enjoy nonetheless! The Mariners beat the Orioles 4-1. Yay!! We definitely stood out in the crowd as Mariners fans unlike when we watched the O's play the Yankees last year--- could have sworn we were in the Bronx and not Baltimore! It was neat to reminisce that my first pro ball game was the Mariners at the King Dome (many moons ago) and Nikolas' first pro game was to see the Mariners at Safeco Field. Gotta love the M's! Next week the O's play the Mets....I think we need to get us some more tickets!

6-7, Patio Project

With this being our first experience in base housing (hmm, hmm...I mean post housing.... all you Navy and/or Army people know what I'm talking about....), we're feeling the itch now that summer is here. No sense really planting anything and we don't even mow our own yard (sounds heavenly to many of you, I know). There are many things I do like about our house here on post, but the backyard and lack of privacy are definitely not on that list. So, Sunday we decided to do a mini-project and extend onto our patio a little bit. We borrowed the idea from a neighbor that had lived in base housing before. The first (and I'm totally serious) thing they did was lay down some slabs for their patio table. So figuring this must be allowed, we did the same thing to give us more room for our bench and bbq. Sven and Nikolas worked and I, well..., I took pictures. =) We love our new little patio. It's amazing what a few extra square feet can do. I plan to spend many hours on that bench this summer reading and keeping an eye on Nikolas! And, I guess we'll be able to duplicate this set up in our next place seeing as how we have to dig it all up and "leave it as we found it" when moving time comes!

6-5, Rollerblading Party

We all had a great time at a rollerskating party for one of Nikolas' friends on Saturday. The three of us own our own rollerblades and have really enjoyed our outtings to the local roller rink. We have a great trail near us as well that I can't wait to get my guys out on. I don't know if Nikolas will be able to keep up, but he'll have to try now that school is over tomorrow!
