2-10, Blizzard #2

Yes, you've read right....not one Blizzard, but TWO.  Sheeshh!!!  Today's snowfall broke the all-time record for snow in Baltimore.  I can't tell you how thrilled we (ok, more so me...) are to be here for it (as we were for the earthquake in Seattle and the hurricane in Pensacola).  We received about 36" of snow Friday-Saturday and another 20" on Wednesday.  Sven and Nikolas have been off of work and school the entire week.  Cabin fever is at an all-time high.  We've had just about all the neighborhood kids over to play in shifts, that is when they weren't all outside playing in the snow.  It's been CRAZY.  I'm really looking forward to the return of some sort of normalcy!  =)

This is the view out of our front door Wednesday morning.

This is the view out our back sliding glass door Wednesday morning.
We haven't been able to use this door for over a week!

The view from our bedroom.  The neighborhood was still and quiet with the exception of the 40+ mph winds.

Do you see the car buried beneath the snow in the left side of the photo?

This beautiful cardinal really stood out against the white snow.
Poor thing was probably looking for some food!

I took this photo on Thursday morning-- I should have taken it on Wednesday night.  Thursday morning the sun was out heating this part of the house so the snow was already starting to melt and compact against the glass.  However, it's still an impressive amount of snow.  Our grill and bench our completely covered and out of sight!

What a welcome sight!!!  Whew!  They didn't dig us out of the first snow storm all that well, so they really got on the ball on Thursday.  The sound of working snow-removal equipment is like angels singing when there's 5' of snow on the ground.  =)
