We took our first trip to Gettysburg, PA, Sunday. I was amazed by how much there was to see and how much land the battle encompassed. Over the course of several hours, we only managed to see about half of the driving tour. It really is hard to imagine how horrible the battle was and how many lives were lost. Nikolas seems to be taking after Sven with his curiosity in history. I'm glad we are here during this time in his life so we can show him so much of our country's early history. And for me, I guess it's never to late to learn it!
When Nikolas was 2 and we were living in Pensacola, my parents bought him a board book called, "Nathan got a hit!". He loved to have this book read to him and now he loves to read this book himself. So as we watch him play baseball, I can't help but think of this book whenever Nikolas gets a hit. And last week, boy did he get a good one!
