5-1, Rockies v. Pirates

Our first Rockies game since moving to Denver.....but why then were we (well, Sven and Nikolas) cheering for the opposing team?.....because the Rockies were playing the Pittsburgh Pirates, that's why.  They say they'll cheer for the Rockies when they play any team other than the Pirates.  Ok, whatever.  So as they applauded the Bucs, I stayed true to our new home team.  I guess their 2-1 cheering led to an 8-4 win for the Pirates.  You'll get 'em next time, Rockies!!

Never seen that at a baseball game before...what exactly is it?!

Sven hoped to get the chance to talk to Neil Walker, 2nd baseman for the Pirates.  When Sven was in high school and living with the Roses in Pittsburgh, Neil was the little boy who lived next door.  It wasn't a long conversation, but Sven did get the opportunity to talk to him.  You just never know what those little boys will grow up to be, do you?!

After the game, we hung out by the dug-out and Nikolas was thrown not one, but TWO, game balls!  (and he didn't even have to fight other fans to get them.  How's that?!)
