5-15, "You've Got a Friend in Me"

Meet "bear".  This is Emalie's best friend.  I realized the other day that she takes him everywhere.  I'm not just saying she takes him with us when we go places, but literally carries him around every second of the day-- upstairs, downstairs, outside, to bed, to eat, etc, etc.  Sometimes it's just too cute to pass up a few 'spy moments' like these.  Elmo must have been a fleeting friend, but I think bear is forever.  (By the way, none of these photos were staged, they were all Emalie's doing.....and my spying!)

I'm really surprised Emalie survived a few hours without bear so he could take a 'bath'.  But, trust me, when you take a bear EVERYWHERE, he's bound to get dirty!

5-20, Fire Station Visit

Emalie aged out of the speech therapy she was receiving at home when she turned three last month.  However, we're lucky enough to remain in contact with her speech therapist and still be included in the playgroup she created.  Today, our group received a private tour of the local fire station.  The guys at the firehouse were awesome, and we all had such a great time!  The firefighters catered their talk to the age group and showed the kids the inside of the truck, the fire hoses, the ladders, the lights and a flashy exit (how's that for a pun?!) with a real call at the end of our visit (what timing!).  Thank you, Jessica, for coordinating such a fun and educational outing for the kids!  (How are we going to top that next time?!)
