Yep. You saw the title of this post: "Life". I think from now on I'm just going to entitle my posts "Life 1", "Life 2", "Life 3", etc. It's not so much what we do anymore that I am blogging about rather than how we're doing. Our lives are more centered around our home than are our outings. My photos are less picturesque and more "I hope I catch them fast enough so they're not just fuzzy blobs". Yes, my perfectionistic ways are becoming less predominant (I hear a collective sigh of relief as you all read that.....ha ha ha....) and my photography critiques are less important than the smiles I'm trying to capture. I think I may be repeating myself from an earlier post (at least now I can claim "baby brain".....), but you get my drift. So enjoy this post, another glimpse into our daily lives......
Abby loves sitting in front of the sliding glass door and soaking up the sun.
"Man, mom! You need to clean this house better-- look at this streak I found!"
(It's fun to observe an 18-month old when it comes to light and shadows.)
Happy little sweeper.
I miss her longer hair....you'll see what I mean a few photos down.
And I miss his shorter hair.....when will clean-cut be cool again?!
One day I bought a pair of snow pants for Nikolas.
Abby slept in them all afternoon.
The next week, I bought a pair of snow pants for Emalie.
Abby slept in them all afternoon.
What is up with this cat and her love of snow pants?!
"You can't hide that Nintendo from me, big brother!"
(Cracks me up-- no pun intended--she's wearing Nik's old pants!)
Emalie got her first haircut. I couldn't believe how much the stylist cut off.
Thank goodness it will grow back!
Who doesn't love a wooden bear (esp one made in MT)?
Emalie loved being outside when Sven was raking up the leaves. She did not love playing in the leaves. The photos I had envisioned in my head were not meant to be. The one, lone leaf atop her head is proof of that!
Don't mistake her accidentally falling in the leaves and laughing as she's trying to get up as actually enjoying being in the leaves. It reminded us of the first time we took Nikolas to the beach; he hated touching his feet to the sand.
Sven's birthday was rather uneventful this year. He raked the yard in the morning (as shown above), slept in the afternoon and worked the whole night. Poor guy! The highlight was definitely mom and dad's arrival. Maybe the big 4-0 next year will be more exciting.(Sorry, honey, people have a right to know......)
