6-11, Flooded Cherry Creek

An afternoon walk at the trail.......

I'd always been on rollerblades when passing this memorial, so I'd never gotten off the paved trail to take a closer look.  I'd always assumed it was some sort of war memorial.  Much to my surprise, it was a memorial for children who passed away in infancy.  There were inscribed stones (many, many of them) with messages, names and dates.  It was very sad.

I found this to be a very poignant message.
This falcon eyed us from high in the tree as we were walking by.

Sven, Mom and the kids along the trail.

Em on her Strider bike and Nik on his scooter.

There's that 'thing' I have with trees again......

A yucca starting to bloom.

I had no idea swallows could be such a pretty blue!

Is that WATER I see in Cherry Creek?  We've lived here for 4 years and this is only the second time we've seen water in the 'creek'.  Sad when you miss water and this is what you get excited about......

Is that a peeping momma swallow?

Teenagers don't always get the joy of family fun......

Here's our little punk.....LOL......

She's pointing to the direction she wanted to go which was not the direction of the car!

Cruising......

This view of the flooded creek is a little prettier than the previous one..... but about as 'pretty' as it gets.
