How do you make a lighting test fun when your subject is a soon-to-be 12-year old boy? Let him take the stage and do what he enjoys. The day I took Emalie's pictures in the morning, I got Nikolas to pose for me in the afternoon. He brightened at the idea that I wasn't going to make him "sit there and smile". I was pleased to actually hear "this is the most fun I've had taking pictures!" For all the times I haven't had my camera with me during belt tests or stripe weeks, hopefully this post will help fill in some of the gaps. Look at our (not-so-little anymore) karate guru!
