Have you ever heard the phrase (or uttered the words yourself) "serenity now"? Look no further than this amazing place. I love mountains, and I've seen a lot of mountains in my day, but nothing compares to the awesomeness of the peaks of the Tetons. My new goal in life is to visit this magical place as often as I can in my lifetime.

7-11, The Lakes of Teton
We were really lucky to get a campsite at a campground in Teton National Park. It was in a central location, so we spent three nights there using it as our home base to explore during the day. It also happened to be on the shore of Jackson Lake. Jackson Lake is beautiful! Each day we walked 5-10 minutes and found a secluded spot for ourselves to play in the water and lay on the 'beach'. Emalie made the comment once, "Mom! This sounds just like your Calm!" (My 'Calm' meditation app that has tranquil background sounds for the meditation sessions.) It was most definitely soul-soothing.
A gem we found on the trail to the lake. |
The rugged peaks appear to rise right out of Jackson Lake. (Can you hear the waves lapping against the shore? And, yes, I'd take a rocky beach over a sandy one any day!) |
The pristine waters of Stringer Lake. |
Next time, we're going to bring our tubes and lounge in the waters of Stringer Lake ....with everyone else! |

6-30, First Tetons Glimpse
I'm going *slightly* out of chronological order here to keep the theme consistent. This trip, we actually saw the Tetons twice-- once as we drove from Denver to Hamilton and then on the way back after Yellowstone (when we spent a few days touring the park). This first glimpse of the Tetons was all I needed to fall in love. The beauty of these mountains is indescribable-- it's a feeling. I could have spent days on end just looking at these mountain peaks. The serenity of this beautiful park is overwhelming...in the best kind of way. If you haven't been to the Tetons before, go now....like run there! (You so won't be sorry!)
