4-26, Finished Bathrooms!

I never really 'got it' when people obsessed and stressed about remodeling that they were having done in their homes.  That is, I never 'got it' until we ventured on a project in our own home.  Now, I SO get it!  Our projects were relatively small in the grand scheme of things:  2 bathrooms (well, technically 1 bathroom with some 'other stuff' in the 2nd bathroom).  Three and a half weeks, 7 contractors and thousands of dollars later, I can only emphasize that now I truly 'get it'!  You'd have thought we were growing a prize rose by the number of times we checked on those bathrooms....and waited and waited and waited for them to be finished.  I'd never been so happy to see new.....running....toilets before.  Now that these bathrooms are finished, bring on the company!  We have room to accommodate,  and now, facilities as well! =)  So, this isn't the most exciting blog post for you, but it's sure an exciting one for us!

4-24, Easter Sunday

No, we didn't go to church on Easter Sunday.....but we did go to a fun brunch with our new neighborhood friends!  We feel so fortunate to have moved into such a welcoming community.  We took this opportunity to finally get a family picture in front of our new house.  It was a gray, cool morning, but all of the mornings here in Colorado seem to be beautiful no matter what the weather.  So, now you know what it looks like, if you're in the neighborhood you'd better drop in and say hello!

4-19, Nikolas' New Eyes

It was bound to happen....genes don't lie....Sven and I don't have good eyes.  Nikolas' eyes have been bothering him for the past few months, so we recently had his eyes checked.  Technically, his eyesight is 20/20, but his eyes are stressed with close-up work and reading (I can totally relate as I sit here wearing my computer/reading glasses).  Somehow, Nikolas was quite excited to get his new glasses and I thought the week-long wait was going to kill him.  Now, a week later, I think the novelty has worn off.  Poor kid-- they're BIFOCALS.  Yes, bifocals for a 9-year old.  The eye doctor thought it was a good idea for school so he doesn't have to constantly have to take them on and off.  Now, I'm thinking....he may be on to something.....maybe I'll pay him a visit myself!  You have to admit, he looks rather cute!
