For once, the forecasters were right on. They forecasted a big, 2-day blizzard with 20-30" of snow. It started snowing mid-day Friday...and kept snowing....and snowing.....and snowing.....
Around 5' Saturday the snow finally stopped falling. It was such a relief to see the beauty of blue sky overhead and the colors radiating from the sunset. We took a walk around the neighborhood. Everyone came out of hiding and it was quite the social hour. Wish our neighbors were that friendly everyday!!!
We spent a lot of time digging out and wondering what's going to become of the next week (since there's more snow forecasted for the middle of the week!). We already know that school will obviously be closed tomorrow. Today, Sunday, there was no hope for getting into the parking lot or through the doors. I find it amusing that the "No School" sign is buried within the snow. We also tried sledding but we just sunk, sled and all, into the snow. Have you ever had those dreams where you're trying to move and your legs feel like they're weighed down with concrete and you're moving in slow motion? That's what it was like trying to get back UP the hill. We finally gave up and crawled like babies as fast as we could trying not to sink! Oh..and the final snowfall amount? Approx 36"!!! Unbelievable. Gosh another 6-10" mid-week could make things VERY interesting!! (as if they weren't already!)
