7-5, Lazy Pool Day

Seeing as how this looks to be our last summer here at Fort Meade, we've been taking advantage of the neighborhood pools to survive the heat.  Sven and Nikolas enjoy swimming and playing, while I enjoy reading a book or magazine by the pool's edge.  Whatever works, right?!  Here are a few photos from our recent family trip to the pool.

7-10, Day with the Hansens

We had planned a special day with our friends the Hansens to go to the Spy Museum in DC.  We met at 11', had a nice leisurely lunch at Gordon Biersch, and headed off to the museum at 1'.  Lesson learned:  if you want to go to a museum in DC during the summertime, do NOT arrive at 1'!!  Even though we had advanced entry tickets, the line for ticket holders extended way down the block.  (Ironically, it looked as if it may have been faster to have not had our tickets!)  So the line and the fact that the museum does not allow strollers and it was baby's naptime sealed the deal on the Spy Museum:  RAINCHECK (literally, it rained all day, hee hee).  We headed towards the Museum of Natural History instead.  It was extremely crowded and 2 hours there was the tolerable limit.  Still, it was fun to hang out with our friends (and Nikolas loved, loved, loved being with the baby).  So, next time:  Spy Museum at 9 AM!
