12-21, Lunar Eclipse

Yes, I was the crazy lady standing out in the front lawn in her robe at 3 AM in 20 degree weather watching the lunar eclipse.  I was the ONLY one in my neighborhood doing that.  I guess for that I am thankful or else I would have been pretty embarrassed standing there in my robe.  =)  This is the image I was able to capture.  Not too bad for a lens that's 1/3 the size of the one needed for something like this.  It was definitely a 'been there done that' moment since the last winter solstice full moon eclipse was in 1638 and the next one is slated for 2094. I'd say it was worth it!

12-22-10, Christmas Tree

Can you believe that Christmas is only three days away?!  We can't.  Nikolas' countdown is now in the single digits.  Unbelievable.  We put up our tree a little later this year knowing that we wouldn't be taking it down until the week after New Year's.  Down with the tree will not only come the decorations, but our pictures and everything that makes our little Fort Meade house a home.  Three days until Christmas and only four weeks until the movers come.  (Boy, where's that eggnog when you need it?!!)  As I digress....anyway.....here are the photos of our tree this year.  Nikolas had the tree picked out before we were even out of the truck!  We scoured through all of the trees on the lot and we kept coming back to that first tree that he saw.  He picked out a beautiful tree.  Quite an eye that boy has.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

AND

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
