My camera (no, not the point and shoot one, the other one) has been shut away in its bag....for months. Be it time, lack of motivation, whatever, the poor thing has hardly seen the light of day. I know, from reading this blog, you generally won't know which camera I used for whatever day's photos....but I know, and the guilt is getting the best of me. So, in my attempt to rekindle what I've always loved to do, I vow to get it out more often and capture life's little moments. Yesterday had two of life's little moments: Nikolas cuddling Abby and the deer in our yard. We haven't seen too much of the deer lately. When we first moved in, we saw them every day...and at the same time every day- their rounds were like clockwork. As the spring has progressed, we see them less often, but generally in larger herds in other parts of the neighborhood. It's been interesting noting these little details. I was thrilled yesterday morning to see 3 deer in our yard. I had to laugh because just the night before Sven had commented that the deer were eating his flowers. Sure enough, they made it across the yard, up to the driveway and munched away the greens-- leaving one bright yellow daffodil in tact. Since we didn't plant these flowers and we know anything out in the open is fair game for the deer (no pun intended, hee hee), I just watched. It doesn't get much better than this.
