4-17, Golden, CO

A day of rest-- that's what we needed.  Since moving into our new/old house in February, we've worked our tails off: unpacking, organizing, painting, repairing, replacing, remodeling, etc, etc, etc.  We just needed a break.  Somewhere over the course of the past two months, we've forgotten that there will never come a day when everything is caught up and the inbox is empty.  A day of fun in the sun in the beautiful Colorado mountains is exactly what we needed.  Even though we have parks very close to our home, Nikolas wanted to drive to Golden (45 minutes away) to play baseball.  The park there is nothing extraordinary, but there is a feeling you get when visiting Golden...relaxed, peaceful...you get the idea.  I can't speak for the boys in the family, but I can tell you that I have felt rejuvenated after our day away.  I got more accomplished on Monday than I did the entire week before.  So, when all else fails-- take a break!!  If you think you don't have time to do that, I'm telling you, you don't have time not to!

I failed to get photos of the park, our picnic by the river and the boys throwing the ball around, but I did get my camera out for our visit to the Red Rocks Amphitheater.  It is quite impressive.  Can't wait to someday see a concert there!

You can see the city of Denver off in the distance.

Sven and Nikolas were going to race up the stairs from the bottom of the theater....I see someone only made it a few sets up before the novelty wore off!  I don't blame him... I walked them, one by one, hoping the altitude didn't get the better of me before reaching the top.

Yes, loving Colorado!
