1 year. 365 days. That is how long it has been since we first laid eyes on Emalie in Wuhan, China. She came to us as Wu Ji Fang, soon to be Emalie Ji Krauss. I'll never forget the excitement in Nikolas' voice as he said, "I think that's her! That's Emalie! That's Emalie!" I had my back turned because I was signing paperwork. It was a moment that changed our lives and our family forever. It was a beautiful, beautiful moment. And as we suspected from the photos we had initially received in April, she was (and is) a beautiful, beautiful girl-- inside and out. Words simply cannot express how we love this little one so.
