7-4, 11-Mile Reservoir

About this location, I have to say that I think I have discovered my new, least favorite body of water- 11 mile Reservoir.  The previous long weekend destination for my birthday had been my choice, this holiday weekend location was chosen for its 'notorious' fishing.  Hmph.  Let's just say there were more ants than fish....wait-- were there ANY FISH?  I don't know, I didn't see one, snag one or catch one.  Neither did Sven or Nikolas.  It was hot, dry, buggy and no-fishy!  Hey, at least now we know and can open up other camping trips for better locations.
Camping?  Are we going camping?!  Don't forget me!!
Abby's a natural camper!

6 miles of dry, bumpy road and this is what we see halfway to the campground.  Odd!

You've got to admit they're pretty cute though!
Yeah...the water that came out of the faucet was brown, but don't let that ruin the serenity of the otherwise pretty photo.

I think watching this sunset after a long walk was my favorite part of the weekend.  It is pretty humorous though that we were really in the middle of nowhere and the Sheriff's car stopped me on my walk to see if I was ok.  Should that have made me suspicious?!

After the second day, we decided that we needed to find recreation other than non-productive fishing.  We headed up towards the mountains and took some pretty hikes.  What a difference a few trees make!

OK, so maybe I've been living in cities too long.....but, umm.....WHAT ROAD?!

I have a thing for 'naked trees'.
The view of the lake from a MUCH prettier place.
