Sven and I are the rulers of indecision. =) We couldn't figure out what we wanted to do this weekend, but we knew we wanted to do something new and outdoors. So, by 10 AM we finally decided we would drive out to Frederick, MD, taking the backroads through the country. It was a beautiful drive.. and yes, there is country in MD, unfortunately just not where we live. We love seeing the farms (ie, cows) and the slower way of life. What is odd about this area is that right next to a farm is a million dollar mansion. It's very strange. BUT...it makes for an interesting drive! Frederick is a very quaint town. It was about an hour and a half away taking the scenic route and an hour or so via the interestate. We had a great lunch at a local brewery and Sven was quite happy with his beer selection. We had lunch, a stroll around town, a Starbucks and then took a self-guided tour of three old, covered bridges in the area. And, the temps reached nearly 70 degrees that day!! It was beautiful, indeed!
This mural was on the side of a building in Frederick. How fantastic is that?!
